The Requirements Interface is the interface between the Requirement Management tools and the Analysis and Definition tools. It allows for testers and Test Managers to use requirements in a uniform way and to refer to them in an unambiguous way. Although not precisely defined yet, it will be set up hierarchically as Requirements can be specified on various levels and with varying details. The detail-level is left open from expressing a 'wish' to specifying every requirement in detail. Note that Test Cases do not have to refer to requirements at the lowest level, but can refer to a group of requirements as well. And Test Cases can be essential for a requirement (i.e. actively verifying the requirement) or just affected by a requirement (i.e. the test case does not cover the entire requirement, but will fail when the requirement is changed). A requirement will consist of a unique identifier to which the Test Cases will refer. In addition it will have a short description and optionally a long description or reference to another document.
